2020 is now finished and most of us are glad that it is. It has been a challenging and medically dangerous year for us all. Hopefully, most of our section ARES members have stayed healthy. I can’t wait for us to be able to have face to face meetings and hamfests. I definitely need to transfer some of my equipment to someone else’s basement.
The FCC has issued the notice that new amateur licenses and renewals/changes will cost $35.00. I know a lot of hams are not happy with that change. Write your US congressman or senator as the change was required in the “Repack Airwaves Yielding Better Access for Users of Modern Services Act” of 2018 — the so-called “Ray Baum’s Act.” Only through legislation can the fee be eliminated.
