Missouri Section – Activity Report May 2106

May was once again an active month for the Missouri Section. 2822 hours were expended support drill, training, public service events, and emergency operations. Thanks to all who gave there time to support the various served agencies in their area.

District News:

District A:

Jackson County continues their planning for SET 2016. They are planning on participating in the National Mass Care Exercise on August 25th.

Northland is expanding the FSQcall VHF network to include 6 meters on 52.790 MHz More info is on www.kcnortharea.org.

District C:

Paul Chambers is resigning as EC effective July 1. Thanks to Paul for all of his work. Stacy Landers is replacing Paul as Franklin Co. EC.

St. Louis Metro held a net control boot camp on May 7th and training 13 individuals how to be effective net control operators. Metro’s Packet BBS N0ARS-1 is on the MEPN frequency for NTS traffic.

District E:

With the untimely death of Dave Colvett, K4WWV, as new DEC is needed for the District. Bob Gosnell, N0DAN is filling for now until someone wishes to fill the position.

District F:

Audrain Co. reports tremendous coverage with their 147.255 repeater which covers a significant portion of Sistrict F.

Cole Co. conducted a gathering  to set up and operate amateur gear using emergency battery and solar power. Membes of the local Boy Scout Troop visited the demostration.

Howard Co. is preparing for the Big BAM event.

Osage Co. EC Jim Clevand KD0HXG has resigned. Thanks to Jim for his service.

District G:

Carter Co. ARES attended “Spring Fever Days” in Ellington, MO. and demostrated VHF & HF radio. The demo resulted in two new members for ARES
