Missouri Section – Activity Report March 2016

The weather in Missouri continues to confuse as the seasons so far seem to have forgotten where they normally belong. April is the beginning of severe weather season for us, so be sure you are ready to support our weather spotting efforts in a safe manner. Remember, Always have an escape route if you see severe weather coming in your directions.

Activity in the districts continues to grow as there are 2716 man ours reported for March. Thanks to all who are supporting the ARES programs in your county/district.

District News:

District A: Carroll COo. continues to work with KCHEART in developing a single, common net to include both KC Metro and Rural District A participants. Jackson Co. members attended NWS severe  storms symposium. Planning is beginning for the NLE 2016 mass care exercise in August. Northland ARES presented  HAM101 on March 19th with great attendence. Clay & Platte Co. Sheriff EM were represented as well as SATERN, KCHEART, BSA Radio Scouting, MARS, Near Space Adventures and Bridge Comm radio group.

District B: ARES members attended NWS Spotter Training Classes.

District F: Camden Co. now has a a NEW EC. Boone Co. held a number of training and exercises in March.

District G: Douglas Co. held a test session in March with another tech class amateur added to the rolls. Wright Co. working on go bags for call outs. CArter Co. working with the Sheriff’s Department to arrange a license class for Deputies.
